The poker run is a fundraiser in which each pilot flies/driver drives to 4 participating airports and picks up a card per stop. Start at any of the participating airports, then stop at 1-3 additional and end in Crestview at Emerald Coast Aviation for scoring. Passengers may also purchase poker hands.

Stu Jones and the Florida Powerboat Club Members make their way in the middle of August through the beautiful gulf waters. A 25 mile run in beautiful weather for a great poker run.

Who can participate?

Anyone! Pilots, auto drivers, motorcycle riders, and passengers may participate. Insurance for your mode of transportation must be current.

Which airports are on the route?

The 2019 Poker Run airports will open at 8:30 am and the participating stops are:

5R4 – Foley Municipal Airport, Lightning Aviation, 510 N Airport Rd, Foley, Alabama 36535

KCQF – Sonny Callahan Airport, Continental Motors, Inc., 8600 county Road 32, Fairhope, Alabama 36532

1R8 – Bay Minette Municipal Airport, US Aviation (previously Skywarrior), 11981 Airport Road, Bay Minette, Alabama 36507

0R1 – Atmore Municipal Airport, Aviation Specialists, 15 Beacon Lane, Atmore, Alabama 36502

Do I have to land/drive to every airport?

No, you do not have to land or drive to any additional airports but we hope you do for the valuable experience. You may pick up remaining cards to complete your hand at the terminus (KJKA). Pilots, there is no need to stretch your personal limits at an airport with strong crosswinds. Drivers, there is not need to exceed the speed limit in order to reach an airport.

What time do I need to be at the terminus?

Please arrive at KJKA, Jack Edwards National Airport, Salt Air Aviation Center no later than 12:30 pm. Prizes will be awarded at 1:30 pm. You must be present to claim a prize.

How do I register?

Contact Terri B. at (559) 618-0159 or at 99pilots@gmail.com to obtain the registration packet and purchase as many hands as you would like. Additional hands will be available at the terminus (KJKA) for $20.

Box lunches are available for $5. Please purchase your box lunch when you register or bring your own lunch.

Once registered, you will receive a text from Terri B. confirming the number of cards to pick up at each airport.

Other Important Information!

One card per hand is drawn at each airport.

Remember, this in NOT a race. Please take your time and most importantly, be safe. If you are flying and weather is marginal or beyond your personal limits at one of the airports, don’t land.

Emerald Coast Poker Run 2018 Dates Of Events

If weather is bad on the day of the Poker Run, a notice will be posted by 7:30 am and the Poker run will be moved to a rain date of October 5^th. You may also contact Terri B. at (559) 618-0159.

Scoring: Standard Five Card Draw. No Jokers or Wild cards. Points will be assessed not only for hands, but for card values within hands. Your hands will be put onto a score sheet for tallying upon arriving at the terminus.

For the last 26 years, the Emerald Coast Poker Run has been making waves in Northwest Florida! Boat Week is a week long boating celebration on the Emerald Coast that rounds out with The Emerald Coast Poker Run. Benefiting the Emerald Coast Foundation, an organization that supports children’s charities and youth organizations in Okaloosa County, the Emerald Coast Poker Run and Boat Week events, have raised over 2 million dollars to date for its cause. Boat Week events and activities have been designed for the participation and enjoyment of the local community and all of our area visitors.

Captain’s Bag will be available for pick up at the Ramada on Okaloosa Island during boat week. Days/Times TBD, please check back for additional details.
All registered captain’s must attend a safety meeting at locations/dates/times to be determined during Boat Week. Please check back for additional details.
This is a rain or shine event. Poker Run will only be canceled due to safety concerns posed by weather conditions. In the event the the Poker Run is canceled due to inclement weather, the Poker Run party will still go on uninterrupted barring any natural disasters.
Registration is a non-refundable donation to the Emerald Coast Foundation.
Registrants will receive periodic emails in the months and weeks leading up to boat week for event updates and additional information.
